"Court."
We would point out that the Land Court in allowing the Vendors Claim had power so to do under Section 13 above set out, and that under Section 14, above quoted the matter then resolved itself, so far as the rights of the Hong Kong Government were concerned, into the following position:-
1. The Governor might grant a title appropriate to the case.
2. On receipt of the Registrar's Report of the allowance of the Claim the Governor, if he deemed it inexpedient having regard to the public interests of the Colony, that a title should be granted to the Claimant, might refer the matter back to the Court to decide what compensation should be paid to the Claimant.
It is, we submit, clear from the concluding words of Section 15 above set out that immediately the Vendor's Claim was allowed by the Land Court he ceased to be a trespasser against the Crown.
In point of fact what happened after the allowance of the Claim by the Land Court was as follows:-
